Belfast city has a long storied history but over the last 10 to 15 years the city has experienced incredible regeneration and it’s almost unrecognisable from two or three decades ago.
Nowadays visitors, of which there have been up to 110,000 in the last twelve months alone, can enjoy a foodie heaven at St George’s Market (first opened in 1604), a unique black taxi tour of the city, a walk around Crumlin Road Gaol and countless other attractions.
There’s also the famous Titanic Centre, which has welcomed over 440,000 in just the last few months, where visitors can learn more about the doomed ocean liner and see the grand staircase as made famous in the movie!
Add to that the incredible eateries, the famous Crown Saloon Bar, the upcoming George Best inspired hotel and the lively Cathedral Quarter and it’s no surprise Lonely Planet made the choice they did.
